Supernovas

Zwicky suggested novas seen by Tycho, Kepler, and in the Andromeda galaxy were supernovas, incredibly luminous star explosions viewable across galaxies. Supernovas can shine as brightly as an entire galaxy and can be spotted over immense distances.
