Magellanic supernova

The last visible supernova was studied by Kepler in 1604. The rest of them were too far away until a nearby supernova was caught in the Large Magellanic Cloud 150,000 lightyears away. The explosion was heralded by a spray of neutrinos caught in recently devised neutrino telescopes, and a pulsar at the center reported.
