Rings of Uranus

The rings of Uranus were discovered when Uranus occulted a star. To minimize distortions from the lower atmosphere, observations from a high flying airplane captured how starlight dimmed, revealing the presence of rings. Saturn's position as the unique posessor of rings was lost.
