Drake Strait

Discovered a passage around the southernmost tip of South America. Attempting to find Straight of Magellan, which weaves through South American continent (far south), Drake overshot and found an even more southern passage. Coming back around he got as far as SFBA. 60 years after Magellan this was only the second circumnavigation of the world.
